The digital marketing and media industry is growing and evolving faster than ever. The annual IAB Digital Summit gathers marketers, advertising executives, publishers, and technologists  together to share insights about the reinvention of media, platforms, creative, and business models. The need for creative storytelling, built upon emotional connection that compels consumers to action, is immutable. How we get there has been forever disrupted by digital, as consumers have never had more control.

I AM THE ARCHITECT OF MY WORLD: how mobile and streaming is set to change the way brands can remain relevant in the digital world

Today, 32% of all news is consumed by peer-to-peer connectivity and, with live streaming becoming even more innovative, that number is only going to increase. Add to this the growth of mobile in Africa and the Internet of Things – where all your devices are connected – consumers are not limited by physical location, hardware or time but, rather, can tap into an infinite source of information at a click of a button. What this means is that while brands can now connect with more people, more often, a simple TVC no longer works. To stay relevant, brands need to be selective and there is no better way than by connecting with artists & influencers, who are set to become 21st Century-style media conglomerates, empowered by mobile convenience. Welcome to a world where content is what mobilises an audience.

about us

About us

The power of digital, has shifted to the hands of an increasingly liquid consumer – reshaping relationships among platforms, publishers and advertising.  Consumers have never had more control. Their eyeballs, their swipes and their expectations are leading the charge for seamlessly integrated, aesthetically pleasing, value added content and brand experiences. The ability of our industry to deliver resonant storytelling, powered by meaningful data, across all platforms and screens has never been more important.

The IAB Digital Summit explores The Power of Digital  with an exceptional and insightful line up of luminaries from across the marketing and media ecosystem. Our program for the day will uncover the tremendous opportunities and avoidable pitfalls that face brands, agencies, publishers, ad tech and educators  in a landscape forever disrupted by digital.

We have gathered industry leaders who will impart lessons learned from the frontlines of advertising’s reinvention and deliver laser point insights including co-creating agencies of the future to shepherd growth and innovation for brands,  breakthrough technologies such as location based gaming, data through a digital lens, the importance of premium digital content across all screens. How agencies and brands can rise to the challenge of the new media landscape by earning consumers trust, driving innovation and delivering experiences that harness the convergence of the digital and physical worlds.

The IAB Digital Summit, an essential industry gathering of keynotes, master classes and networking, is followed by the Bookmark Awards on 16th March 2017 at The Galleria in Sandton. It is significant that in 2017  South Africa’s third IAB Digital Summit, is on the African continent when considering many trend forecasts predict that the highest % of the next billion online is expected to come from Africa. We look forward seeing you, our valued IAB members, the cream of South Africa’s Digirati, at the 3rd annual IAB Digital Summit to explore the latest thinking and innovation in digital.
